The Cherry Gallery will be the new long-term home of David Fogel’s epic West End Diorama. The Diorama is a scale-model recreation of Ithaca’s West End neighborhood circa 1953, before this vibrant working-class neighborhood was largely razed to create the much-needed flood control channel.

It has been exhibited multiple times over the past 40 years, most recently at the former Ithaca Station branch of Chemung Canal Trust Company, which closed in November 2024. It was previously on display at the DeWitt Historical Society (now The History Center in Tompkins County) in 1986 and 1995, at Tompkins County Public Library in 1998, and at Alternatives Federal Credit Union from 2003 to 2020.

On Saturdays from March 22 through May 24, Mr. Fogel will be at the Gallery to give guided tours of the Diorama 2-4 pm.
