DECEMBER 7 – 23, 2017

After a sold-out run in December 2016, The Cherry brought back its family favorite for the 2017 holiday season, this time with even more magic, including wonderful new songs and all-new puppetry based on marvelous original drawings by Ithaca fantasy illustrator Rachel Terwilliger!

Adapted from the beloved Hans Christian Andersen classic, The Snow Queen tells the story of Greta, a brave young girl on a mission to rescue her best friend Kai from the clutches of the nefarious Queen, encountering along the way a friendly reindeer, a chatty raven, a feisty robber girl, and a host of other curious characters.

The Cherry’s version of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale (which inspired Disney’s Frozen) was developed in 2016 over the course of nine months by members of the Cherry Arts company, resulting in an innovative and locally-grown adaptation like none before!
