Cherry Music is an initiative that responds to the closures of several Ithaca music venues in recent years and brings a new dimension to the Cherry’s decade of presenting diverse arts and performance to the Ithaca community.
Cherry Music will aim to be an important new group of venues for the Ithaca music scene, offering performances in the 200-person Cherry Performance Space, as well as the 50-person Camilla Schade Studio, and occasional small-scale performances to complement the exhibitions in the Cherry Gallery.

Cherry Music is a gathering space for the music community, offering workable safe environments that invite musicians to come together to participate in creating a program for their community. As part of this program, the Cherry is excited to begin offering free music and band rehearsal space in the Camilla Schade Studio.
For several years, support from the New York State Council on the Arts grant for Rehearsal Space for Performing Arts has allowed the Cherry to make the Camilla Schade Studio available for free to performing artists and companies for rehearsals. To date, however, this has been focused on the theater community. With Cherry Music, the company is excited to expand the program to all musicians.
