The Cherry Gallery is the home for visual arts at the Cherry Arts, Ithaca’s west end multi-arts hub. Located on the ground floor of Ithaca Arthaus, an apartment complex that in part offers supportive housing to young people who have previously been housing insecure, the Gallery presents exhibitions throughout the year spanning sculpture, painting, audio, video, and interactive installation.
Alongside their public-facing programming, the Cherry Arts offers arts programs to serve folks who live in the Arthaus and their allied communities, including the popular annual Arthaus Residents and Allies Exhibition.
The Gallery is the long-term home of the West End Diorama, a 64-square foot scale recreation of Ithaca’s West End community circa 1953, before the vibrant working-class neighborhood was largely razed to create the flood control channel.
The Cherry Gallery is operated by the Cherry Arts Inc. The Cherry also hosts rehearsals, workshops, and community events in the multi-use Camilla Schade Studio, adjacent to the Gallery, and programs live performance in the Cherry Artspace, across the parking lot.
