Rule of Thumb in NYC! Parts Unknown Reading

The Cherry Arts partnered with NYC’s Voyage Theatre Company to produce a staged reading of Rule of Thumb for their Parts Unknown series!

The reading was presented yesterday, May 29, 2018 at the New York Public Library on 53rd street.

Fresh off its run at The Cherry Arts Center in Ithaca, Rule of Thumb told the story of Ana and Monika, two high-spirited young women from Sweden who entered a hitchhiking contest and found themselves on a series of peculiar, delightful, and unsettling rides through the borderlands of Serbia and Bulgaria. With quirky humor and tremendous heart, Rule of Thumb explored themes of class and cultural divide, as well as issues of economic and refugee migration from global and local perspectives.

Directed by Beth F. Milles and featuring: Amara James Aja*, Helen T. Clark, Carolyn Goelzer*, Jeff Guyton*, Bryan Hagelin, Craig MacDonald*, Darcy Rose, and Jacob Garrett White* (*member, Actors’ Equity Association)
