Dynamic Bodies: a playful approach to character and rhythm in physical performance. A masterclass with Robin Guiver.

Are you a performer looking to expand your movement toolkit?

Or just a person looking to reconnect to your body’s expressive possibilities?

Join us for an exciting exploration of performance through movement and play, led by physical performer Robin Guiver. Robin has worked as an actor, movement artist and puppeteer on some of the most exciting projects in film, television and theatre in the past decade, including work on the Jurassic World films, the latest Star Wars film, live-action Disney films including The Little Mermaid and Snow WhiteDr. Who, and the National Theatre’s award-winning stage production of War Horse in the West End. (See more about Robin’s work at his website.)

In this weekend-long masterclass, participants will engage in exercises that explore elements of character, gesture and storytelling. Robin’s approach is inspired by the teaching of Jacques Lecoq, and has been influenced by working with the legendary British theatre company Complicite, and the Royal National Theatre in London. Embrace the joy of embodying theatrical expression, and expect laughter, movement and play in this unique opportunity to journey into the world of dynamic physical performance.

Robin has taught workshops in movement and acting at a range of institutions across the UK to young people, seasoned professional artists and everything in between. The workshop will involve physical movement at whatever level the participants are comfortable with. If you have any questions, please reach out!
